ABOUT

I am a media and conceptual artist based in Thessaloniki, Greece. I studied mathematics at the University of Ioannina before graduating from the Unstable Media department at the Gerrit Rietveld Academie in Amsterdam. The move between disciplines was a continuation, not a break: mathematics gave me an intimate familiarity with the structures that claim to describe space objectively, and art gave me the means to test where those structures fail when they meet actual bodies in actual rooms.

My practice investigates how invisible systems of orientation, measurement and calibration organise space and the bodies within it. I build installations using marble, water, light, screens and mechanical structures that translate the logic of these systems into physical and sensory conditions. Materials operate not symbolically but operationally: stone holds and obstructs, water refracts and destabilises, screens open thresholds between material presence and mediated space. The viewer's movement and position complete the work.

Recent projects trace a progression from immersive sensory environments to the direct examination of orientation instruments. The Enchanting Pool (2020–21) used laser light, water and air to create spatial conditions that resist stable perception. There Are No Universal Coordinates (2024) shifted focus to solar compasses and calibrated structures generating provisional, site-specific orientations. ACROSS (2024–25), shown at the Larnaca Biennale 2025, embedded screens within Greek white marble, with the viewer's body as the calibrating variable.

My current research focuses on calibration systems and environmental alignment, exploring where ancient and contemporary methods of spatial reckoning overlap and diverge.
